Best Things to do in Wimbledon

Cannizaro Park

Aside from the usual tennis tournaments and tennis courts, you’ll find that Wimbledon also houses one of London’s best public parks. It’s super well maintained and best of all, the park also has a bunch of landscaped gardens that you could visit, like the leafy Mediterranean garden, or the unique water and sunken garden.

Best part is, the entrance is free and it’s one of my personal favourite places to visit every Saturday morning or bank holiday. Taking a stroll here feels like you’re taking a load off you’re mind and resetting, so if you’re looking for a place to help relax then this is highly recommended.

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum

When talking about this London borough, it’s almost impossible not to talk about Wimbledon Tennis. Every tennis fan is aware of what the Wimbledon championships are, and in this Wimbledon museum is where they can relive previous championships and see the trophies they were rewarded in!

They also have a bunch of interactive exhibits such as getting the opportunity to feel the fabric of different tennis clothes over the years, or learn about the history of the England lawn tennis club all the way from its founding to all their achievements!

New Wimbledon Theatre

Since 1910, the New Wimbledon Theatre, an Edwardian theater classified as Grade II listed and situated on Wimbledon’s Broadway in Wimbledon, London, has served as a prominent landmark for the community.

The Studio at New Wimbledon Theatre, which features a year-round schedule of musicals, comedies, family entertainment, dance, drama, and of course the renowned annual pantomime, is home to incredible development work from up-and-coming authors, comedians, directors, and producers that brings this former ballroom to life.

Wat Buddhapadipa Temple

The Buddhapadipa Temple, also referred to as Wat Buddhapadipa, is a calm and culturally diverse Thai Buddhist temple. It was the first Thai Buddhist temple to be constructed in the United Kingdom and was founded in 1965. It is connected to the Royal Thai Embassy located in London.

Visitors can explore and contemplate in a serene and beautiful environment thanks to the temple’s architecture and beautifully designed gardens. The property has a stunning Ubosot (ordination hall), which was created by well-known Thai architect Praves Limparangsri and was officially dedicated by the Thai royal family in 1982.

Offering amazing horseback riding experiences in London, Wimbledon Village Stables gives riders of all skill levels the chance to get away from the city and enjoy beautiful riding on well-trained horses. I didn’t expect how much I would love horse riding since I was afraid of falling off, but the instructors were quick to reassure me and the horses themselves were so sweet and well-trained!

There’s also a massive stadium built for a certain England club for football, where you can buy merchandise or support your favourite teams in person! The team has a storied past and is well-known for its fervent fan base and approach to the game that emphasizes community.

AFC Wimbledon matches are a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, whether you’re a football fan or just looking for an exciting sporting event to attend.

In Wimbledon, London, at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, there is a tennis court called Centre Court. There’s also a certain hidden gem here that might be passed over by people in favour of the court itself and that is the Centre Court Shopping Centre. Its home to wonderful boutiques and even places where you can sit back, unwind, and enjoy some afternoon tea!

Furthermore, every Sunday in the heart of Wimbledon Village is the Wimbledon Farmers’ Market, which sells locally grown and fresh produce. The market is a favorite hangout for locals and tourists alike because it offers an amazing assortment of fresh, locally grown produce. Every Saturday, there’s a market in a school playground with lots of space for kids to play and explore.

Wimbledon Park

First off, we know there’s an abundance of amazing parks in London, like Richmond Park and the Morden Hall park but Wimbledon’s own park has a certain charm to it. Well, for one thing it has one of the largest lakes in South London, for a beautiful view when you’re on a picnic and if you’re looking for fun things to do, then you can book a match at their unique beach volleyball court!

It’s like taking a hike on the countryside but right in the heart of Wimbledon! There’s also an excellent café in the park and a lot of amazing pubs outside of it, so an Instagram-worthy backdrop isn’t the only reason you should take a tour around this place!
