My Picks of the Best Cafes in Camden

The Coffee Jar

A group of people standing at the counter of a bakery.

Tucked away on a side street near the hustle and bustle of Camden Market is One Shot Coffee, a cozy neighborhood cafe serving up excellent coffee and tasty bites. From the small exterior, you’d never guess the surprisingly spacious and charming interior, with rustic brick walls, comfy couches, and homey decor. I stopped in on a sunny morning for a quick breakfast and was delighted by the laidback atmosphere.

The baristas were incredibly friendly and whipped up a smooth and flavorful flat white. Their beans are also Monmouth coffee warehouse and roastery, a chain coffee shop that have multiple branches around London, with fresh and local coffee beans to ensure the perfect coffee.

The Fields Beneath

A store with a lot of potted plants and a coffee sign.

I visited on a Saturday morning and the place had a nice buzz – groups of friends chatting over coffee, people working on laptops, couples enjoying the freshly baked pastries. The baristas were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a flat white, which was smooth and flavorful, made with their custom blend of beans roasted by local roasters.

The all-vegan food menu is excellent. I tried one of their famous giant cookies – soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips. They also had tempting cakes, brownies, and savory items like bagels and sandwiches. It’s clear everything is freshly made with quality ingredients.

On a recent visit, I opted for a flat white and a moist banana bread. The coffee was smooth and full-bodied with lovely fruity notes. And the banana bread was deliciously warm and comforting. While sipping my coffee, I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. The mix of students getting work done, friends catching up, and locals reading the paper makes it feel like a true neighborhood spot.

The Coffee Tree has become my go-to when I’m looking for a quality coffee and bite to eat in an unfussy, laidback setting. It’s a great local cafe to get your morning caffeine fix or hang out and get some work done. It’s also what I consider to be one of the best cafes to work in London, because of the relaxed vibe and staff that aren’t too overbearing.

I’ve recently had the chance to visit Camden Coffee Co. in Camden, London, and I was thoroughly impressed. I’m a big fan of coffee shops and cafes, and this one is definitely one of the best I’ve been to. The coffee shop is located on Camden High Street, right in the heart of the action. It’s a bit small from the outside, but it’s actually quite spacious inside, with plenty of seating space.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This spot is a place coffee enthusiasts should definitely watch out for as it’s one of the best cafes in Camden town that offers the best flat whites! The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and it was clear that it was made with high-quality beans. Aside from their great coffee, I also tried a slice of banana bread, which was freshly baked and perfectly moist.

Casa Tua Camden

A storefront with a sign that says cassata tu.

If you’re looking for the best Italian cafes in London, then Casa Tua is one of those amazing cafes that should be at the top of you’re list! Aside from the wide range of coffee they offer, it’s best known for their Espressos and they also offer some of the best Italian coffee and food in North London.

I was delighted by the reasonable prices for such high quality, homemade food. Casa Tua has an extensive Italian wine list, and we enjoyed a smooth Chianti Classico with our meal. To end on a sweet note, we split the tiramisu, which was light and creamy without being overly rich. I left feeling like I’d been welcomed into an Italian home for the evening – a wonderful and memorable dining experience that I can’t wait to repeat.

Hidden Coffee

A brick building with people walking in front of it.

The rotating single origin coffees are sourced directly from farms around the world. On my visit, the Colombia La Palma beans produced a light, fruity coffee with hints of blackcurrant and chocolate. In addition to excellent coffee, Hidden Coffee offers fresh pastries, toasties, and sweet treats. I can personally vouch for their melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip banana bread. Vegan and gluten-free options are available too.

The atmosphere here is warm, welcoming, and has a true neighborhood vibe. The mix of vintage and industrial decor, along with details like the record player and plants, give it a hip but cozy feel. The baristas and staff are friendly and clearly passionate about coffee. As a regular, it’s nice to see they know many customers by name.

Think Coffee Ink

A woman at a coffee shop preparing a cup of coffee.

In the back, there’s a fully operational hair salon and tattoo parlor. It’s not every day you get a trim or new ink while sipping specialty coffee! The tattoo artists are talented and do custom work. As a nonprofit, Think Coffee Ink aims to support community initiatives and spread positivity in Camden Town. All profits go towards local charities which is a noble mission.

Tucked away on Camden High Street is Think Coffee Ink, a unique nonprofit cafe, hair salon, and tattoo parlor all rolled into one. As both a coffee aficionado and someone who appreciates quirky spaces, I had to check it out. The Little One Coffee Shop

The little drool is a coffee shop in london.

On my visit, they were serving a fruity Ethiopian Yirgacheffe with notes of blueberry and lemon – it made for a bright and complex pourover. Despite its diminutive size, this cafe packs a punch when it comes to high quality coffee and exceptional service.

Stepping inside the minimalist space, you’re greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans. The Little One roasts their own coffee on-site using single origin beans sourced directly from farms around the world. The owners and staff get to know the regulars, providing a true neighborhood cafe vibe. Just a stone’s throw from the British Museum and nearby universities, so it fills up with a mix of students, professors, and young professionals. On a sunny Saturday morning, I stopped in for an espresso and breakfast.  My single origin espresso from Colombia had lovely caramel sweetness with a syrupy body. Other fresh breakfast options include oatmeal, yogurt bowls, and pastries from local bakeries.

It’s also a cool cafe to study at because their prices are super affordable and their coffee will keep you productive! Aside from that if you’re running to late while heading to work, it’s good to know that the staff here are super reliable and efficient so you don’t have to worry about waiting too long for an espresso.
