My Picks for the Best Brunch in King’s Cross

Caravan

A large dining room with tables and chairs.

Caravan is a fairly famous brunch spot because of their many branches, but their spot on King’s Cross is still one of the best brunches we’ve ever had. Both the kimchi pancake and the fried jalapeño corn bread are highly flavorful and well-balanced dishes that you should definitely try. As usual, the coffee was excellent and expertly prepared.

An extremely lively, energetic, and bustling workplace where each team member works rapidly while still finding time to greet people kindly. We also split a martini and ordered two different rice bowls. It was all very delicious. We chose to return for a different brunch menu so we could sample the renowned tapas-style meal because those “simple” rice bowls had so many fascinating details.

Granary Square Brasserie

The interior of a restaurant with wooden tables and chairs.

The food is consistently excellent here, though I do like the brunch menu better. I ordered the avocado Benedict this time, and it was excellent. For brunch, a fresh orange and some chips was the ideal combination.

Excellent service is provided, and there have been occasions when the staff has found a table for a large party without a reservation or has accommodated last-minute additions to the reservations. Every dish was enormous and beautifully presented. With their various dietary needs, everyone in our group found the menu options satisfactory.

German Gymnasium

The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Although I don’t eat sausages, I did sample some and found them to be quite tasty. I also really enjoy their mashed potatoes.
We also sampled their delicious chocolate and apricot cake. We will most certainly return.

German Gymnasium serves a variety of signature brunch dishes, including the aforementioned German sausages, hot buttermilk pancakes, and decadent pastries. Their brunch menu caters to both traditional English breakfast enthusiasts and those with a penchant for their specialty, German cuisine!

📍1 King’s Blvd, London N1C 4BU, United Kingdom

Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross

A restaurant with wooden floors and wooden tables.

Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross draws in brunch enthusiasts with its chic and frankly, Instagrammable décor, offering a delightful array of brunch options. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic British brunch or seeking a unique bottomless brunch experience, Drake & Morgan has something for you.

At Drake & Morgan, you can indulge in a variety of recommended brunch selections, from scrumptious eggs benedict and fluffy pancakes to vegan options and artisanal cocktails. Oh, and since the holiday season is coming up, their three course Christmas dinner is absolutely a must-try!

📍6 Pancras Sq, London N1C 4AG, United Kingdom

Lighterman

The building is black.

Lighterman is renowned for providing a scenic and enjoyable brunch experience in King’s Cross. Situated amidst picturesque surroundings, this establishment is a favorite spot for those looking to savor a relaxing brunch with a view.

When dining at Lighterman, be sure to sample their notable brunch dishes, such as the delectable aubergine puree with poached eggs and the savory salmon bao. The diverse menu and picturesque terrace make Lighterman a standout brunch spot.

📍3 Granary Square, London N1C 4BH, United Kingdom

Dishoom

An industrial style bar with a clock on the wall.

I simply adored it; it reminded me so much of an Indian subcontinent train station or directly in Bombay. The layout is excellent, and every little detail has been carefully considered. We had brunch, so add a great atmosphere, excellent food, and attentive service, and you’ve found a winner!

They also have some delightful menu items that you could only find in King’s Cross creative breakfast menus. They have made up creative uses for their herbs and spices, like their unique chili vanilla ice cream, which is so impressively unique. Would highly recommend The Big Bombay for an Indo-British fry up & the keema per eedu for a rich, meaty breakfast.

📍5 Stable St, London N1C 4AB, United Kingdom

Bao

A dining room with tables and chairs and a staircase.

Well, if you’re looking for something light for your brunch in King’s Cross, then Bao should be at the top of your list. They specialise in Taiwanese cuisine that seems like they’ve absolutely perfected. I ordered the lunch special, which was reasonably priced and had vegetarian and plant-based options. I’d return just for the insanely delicious aubergine fritters with tofu and scallion sauce.

This restaurant serves brunch and amazing bubble tea to go along with it! Something about having healthy dishes like coconut bread with lemon curd cream cheese and bubble tea in the morning makes the whole experience so light and cosy.

📍Unit 2, 4 Pancras Sq, London N1C 4DP, United Kingdom

Lina Stores

Green chairs in a restaurant.

The first time I had the opportunity to take a walk around Kings Cross, this was the first restaurant I’ve ever been at in the area d it did not disappoint! Found out later that this was a local favourite so I gathered a few of my friends and quickly came back a few days later.

We were not only treated to amazing Italian food and pasta (the crab linguine and the truffle pasta were so amazing we just had to order seconds) but they also have a great amazing desserts and fresh fruit salads. Plus, the head chef there is nice and despite being super busy, he had no problems answering any of our questions.

Morty & Bob’s is not your ordinary King’s Cross brunch spot because this joint is not only experts at making grilled cheese and mushrooms on sourdough toast, this restaurant is open from morning till night! Perfect for anyone who just finished a pub crawl, and are looking for a place to wash down the hangover or continue their drinking!

For those who enjoy grilled cheese, this is the ideal location. I’ve tried it and can recommend it, but it’s quite large, so you might want to share so you can also get fries. I once stopped in for brunch and had toast with avocado. They have outdoor seating in the front with views of the back and the coal drops yard. It has an industrial aesthetic inside.

Searcys St. Pancras

London's st pancras station bar.

We had a great weekend brunch here. The food was delicious. Everything I ate was excellent, including the salads, oysters, salmon, and the entire roast with all of the fixings—particularly the tarragon sauce. Of course, having bottomless champagne was a bonus.

Their modern British menu features classics like their full English breakfast with scrambled eggs and of course the classic afternoon tea. Location is also amazing and is only a walk away from amazing attractions all across the city.
