YiFang Fruit Tea

Yi fang taiwan fruit tea.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, I stopped by the cute little YiFang Fruit Tea kiosk near Tower Bridge. This Taiwanese bubble tea shop is known for their fresh fruit teas and tapioca pearls. I decided to try their signature YiFang Fruit Tea, made with fresh pineapple, orange, apple slices, and passionfruit. The fruit chunks were generous and added lovely bursts of flavor.

The tea base had a nice ching tea flavor that balanced the sweetness. And the tapioca pearls were perfectly chewy! Overall, I was really impressed with the quality and flavors at YiFang. FAQ

What is bubble tea?

Bubble tea, also known as boba tea or pearl milk tea, originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. It is a sweet drink that typically consists of tea, milk, sugar, and chewy tapioca pearls called “boba”. The pearls sink to the bottom of the drink and are sucked up through an extra-wide straw.

Are the tapioca pearls gluten free and vegan?

The tapioca pearls, also called boba, are usually made from tapioca starch extracted from the cassava root. Tapioca starch is naturally gluten-free, so boba pearls are generally safe for people with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. They are also vegan and dairy-free. However, it’s best to check with the individual tea shop just in case.

How much does bubble tea usually cost in London?

Bubble tea prices can range from £3 to £6 in London. On average, expect to pay around £4-5 for a standard bubble tea with tapioca pearls. More specialized drinks with extra toppings or larger sizes may cost more.

Can you customize bubble tea orders?

Most bubble tea shops allow you to customize your drink order to your preferences. You can often choose the tea base (black, green, oolong, etc), milk type (dairy, soy, almond, etc), sugar level, amount of ice, and toppings. Popular add-ins are tapioca pearls, grass jelly, red bean, pudding, and coconut jelly.
