Robb Beckett

Rob Beckett, a rising comedy star, began his stand-up career in 2009, achieving third place in So You Think You’re Funny and winning the Amused Moose Laugh-Off, leading to an invite to the Adelaide Fringe Festival. He made his mark at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012.

On TV, Rob co-hosted I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW! and presented Absolute Radio’s Rock’N’Roll Football Sunday show from 2014 to 2018. He’s known for co-hosting The Magic Sponge podcast and narrating Celebs Go Dating.

Rob’s TV career includes being a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and winning Taskmaster in 2016. He presented BBC One’s Wedding Day Winners and All Together Now in 2018, and in 2019, he explored celebrity lives in Rob & Romesh vs… on Sky TV.

Rob Beckett also co-hosted the Lockdown Parenting Hell podcast during the pandemic and started his Sunday Show on BBC Radio 2 in February 2022. His comedic journey continues to thrive.

Rob Beckett’s comedic voyage began in 2009, marking the start of a remarkable career in stand-up comedy. He further showcased his comedic prowess by clinching victory in the Amused Moose Laugh-Off, an achievement that granted him an invitation to perform at the illustrious Adelaide Fringe Festival in Australia.

Rising Through the Ranks

The Adelaide Fringe Festival proved to be a turning point for Beckett, garnering him a nomination for the prestigious Best Newcomer award in 2011. His comedic journey continued to flourish as he made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012 with his solo show titled “Rob Beckett’s Summer Holiday.”

A Venture into Television

Rob’s comedic talents transcended the stand-up stage, leading him to television. In 2011, he made a memorable guest appearance as Mike in the Channel 4 series Fresh Meat. From 2012 to 2014, Beckett co-hosted I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW!, the ITV2 spin-off from the main show. He presented alongside Laura Whitmore and Joe Swash, becoming a familiar face in the world of television comedy.

Rock’N’Roll Radio

Beckett’s versatility extended to the airwaves as he presented the Rock’N’Roll Football Sunday show on Absolute Radio from August 2014 until 2018. His comedic flair found a home on the radio waves, further cementing his reputation in the entertainment industry.

Podcasting and Narration

Rob Beckett’s comedic charm also translated into podcasting. Alongside fellow comedian Ian Smith and former footballer Jimmy Bullard, he co-hosted the irreverent comedy-football podcast “The Magic Sponge.” The podcast provided a unique glimpse into the lives of professional footballers.

In 2016, Beckett took on the role of narrator for the E4 series “Celebs Go Dating,” showcasing his distinctive voice and comedic style. He returned for the second series in 2017, this time with international celebrities in tow.

A Fixture on Panel Shows

Since 2016, Rob Beckett has been a prominent figure on the More4 panel show “8 Out of 10 Cats,” where his quick wit and humour have made him a fan favorite. His sharp comedic sensibilities shine on the show.

In 2016, Rob Beckett entered the competitive arena of “Taskmaster” and emerged as the victor in the third series, showcasing his ability to tackle unconventional challenges with humor and ingenuity.

Rob’s television hosting prowess came to the fore in 2018 when he presented BBC One’s “Wedding Day Winners” alongside Lorraine Kelly, as well as “All Together Now” with Geri Halliwell. These Saturday-night entertainment series showcased his versatility as a TV host.

In 2019, Beckett embarked on a globe-trotting adventure in the Sky TV series “Rob & Romesh vs…” alongside fellow comic Romesh Ranganathan. The show delved into the lives and careers of celebrities while taking on a variety of entertaining challenges.

Podcasting in Unprecedented Times

As the world grappled with the challenges of parenting during the Coronavirus lockdown, Rob Beckett teamed up with fellow comedian Josh Widdicombe to co-host the “Lockdown Parenting Hell” podcast. Their interviews with celebrities offered insights into the joys and difficulties of parenting during these trying times.

Radio Resonance

Rob’s radio journey continued to evolve as he started his new 5-7pm Sunday Show on BBC Radio 2 on 20 February 2022. Sharing the timeslot with Paul O’Grady on the Wireless, Beckett’s distinctive voice resonated with audiences once again.
