At the highly anticipated live final held at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on April 13th, Tom Towelling emerged as the victor of the Musical Comedy Awards 2024.

A Night of Musical Comedy Excellence

Tom Towelling, formerly one half of the acclaimed duo Good Kids, showcased his talent with a captivating performance, featuring a song dedicated to the King and engaging the audience with various stage entrances.

Notable Performances

Keyboard maestro Anna Hale secured the runner-up position, impressing both judges and the audience, earning her the coveted Audience Favourite award. Luke Nixon, in character as geology teacher Jim Midge, clinched the third spot with his unique act.

Luc Valvona (as Baron Fortitude), Ash Weir, Emily Cairns, Alex Camp, Jay Bennett (as Frank Friendzione), Lila Robirosa, Ben Pollard, Amelia Bayler, and Sang Don Park were the other finalists who advanced through the heats and semi-finals to secure spots in the final. Each performed for seven minutes.

The Queens of Cups, Erin Holland and Grace O’Keefe, who had been chosen for the Best Newcomer award, also performed in the final.

Putting It All Together

Mark Boosey (British Comedy Guide), Hollie Ebdon (agent), Steve Garland (agent), and Lynne Parker (Funny Women) served as the judges.
