Netflix has announced the greenlight of a six-episode dark comedy series from comedian Tom Segura. The untitled series, described as a twisted comedic journey narrated by Segura himself, promises to deliver hilariously “disturbing” stories in line with his stand-up style.
Segura took the reins, writing, self-financing, and producing the pilot episode before securing a deal with Netflix for the full series. Rami Hachach directed the pilot, which garnered Netflix’s attention and led to the series order.
Jeremy Konner, renowned for his work on “Drunk History” and “Waffles & Mochi,” joins as head writer. Segura and Ryan Hall will produce through Your Mom’s House Studios, Segura’s production banner.
This collaboration marks another milestone in Segura’s partnership with Netflix, following the success of his five comedy specials. Segura, currently on tour with “Come Together,” and is set to perform for the upcoming Netflix is a Joke Fest on May 9th!
To anyone who finished all his specials and can’t wait for the upcoming series, you’ll be pleased to know that he has also published a bestselling comedic essay collection and co-hosts popular podcasts ‘Your Mom’s House’ and ‘2 Bears 1 Cave’ under the YMH Studios banner.
