Comedian Elayne Boosler found herself in an unexpected situation at Dodger Stadium, leading to a public dispute and eventual arrest.

The Incident

Boosler shared her experience in a candid 3½-minute video on her YouTube channel. She recounted how a small fight arose when she attempted to enter the stadium with a purse that violated the clear bag policy.

Despite her protests, Boosler was prevented from entering, leading to a heated exchange with stadium staff. In her video, Boosler expressed her disappointment with Dodger Stadium’s handling of the situation, highlighting her frustration with the employee who enforced the policy.

She criticised the treatment she received, emphasising the lack of consideration given to her reputation and past contributions to the stadium. You can watch the full right on below.

Shame on you, Dodger Stadium. Shame on you.

When confronted by staff about her bag, which was a custom-made literally “baseball” designed bag. She was allegedly told to either put it back in their car or throw it away.

Wow, the car — let’s see, we paid $50 to park a mile away and it’s 80 degrees and the tickets were $300 in the secondary market. And nowhere did I see it say it has to be a clear bag. You should let me in.

A woman with curly blonde hair, wearing a dodgers baseball uniform and holding a mitt, stands smiling on a baseball field.

Despite her decades of contributions for the Dodgers Stadium, especially with her comedic career, she still was not let in to see the game. A dodgers executive also said that they send back 200-300 women per game back to their cars because of their bags which Boosler says is a bit unfair.

Why is that acceptable to anyone? Men go into the stadium with non-clear fanny packs, bursting pockets, whatever, and women are forced to carry Purses by Reynolds Wrap with feminine hygiene products sticking out and enough cash so pick pockets know exactly whom to hit up… Enough already. Treat women better.

Clarification and Apology

Following the incident, Boosler offered some clarification and softened her stance. She explained that while she disagreed with the handling of the situation, she did not wish for the employee to face severe consequences.

Of course I don’t want the guy to be fired, We were both wrong but he was more wrong and it escalated when it shouldn’t have. We were both wrong but he was more wrong and it escalated when it shouldn’t have. I went to Dodger games last year with a regular purse and never had an issue so I was pretty surprised about the whole thing.

Boosler pointed out a discrepancy in the bag policy, highlighting that similar items were permitted at other MLB stadiums. The Stadium themselves allegedly contacted Boosler to apologise and as she says,

A Dodger executive called me yesterday and apologized and that would have been cool except for the small fib he fed me, which is kind of insulting to women… He said there was nothing the Dodgers could do about the bag policy because it was MLB policy across the board. Well I looked that up today and MLB leaves bag policy up to individual teams. You can bring a regular purse to Red Sox Yankees Mets Cardinals Cubs etc etc games.

A Few Jokes

A woman with shoulder-length blonde hair, wearing a black dress and posing at a media event, smiles for the camera.

Of course, being a comedic she had a few jokes thrown in when she recounted the story. When asked about her red wrists she says,

My wrists were pretty injured, but nothing that say a Rolex from the Dodgers wouldn’t make feel better. You know, just the cool temp of it …

Even when she was being arrested she says,

I have to say the cops, man and woman, were very nice. Yes, I’m white, I know that… They said ‘well you know, you’re gonna get arrested, you’re gonna have a record’. and I said, ‘Oh no, I won’t be able to vote, but I will be able to run.’.

Lastly when asked if there was anything she wish she had done differently she answered,

Yes I wish I had gone to a Giants game

Elayne still has plans on attending other Dodgers games in the future, but maybe when they’re playing at a different field.
