Actor, producer, and comedian Chris Tucker is set to make a highly anticipated return to the UK stage with a one-off show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, June 2nd. This marks his first UK appearance since his sold-out tour in 2018.

Excitement Builds for London Show

I’m headed back to London this June- I always feel the love! I can’t wait to hit the stage and I can’t wait to perform at the famous Royal Albert Hall- You don’t want to miss it! I’m going all in!

The last time Chris Tucker was at London was in 2018, though he did 4 shows throughout the UK during this time, with large venues like the Birmingham Arena, O2 Apollo, SEC Armadillo, and of course, Eventim Apollo right here in London.

The last one was three years after his first Netflix Special, ‘Chris Tucker Live’. In the same year it was confirmed that the long-awaited follow-up to the hit comedy ‘Rush Hour’ is finally getting it’s fourth installment! This time fans are eager and hyped to see if Tucker would reference the development of Rush Hour in his new act.

Comedic Ventures and Humanitarian Work

Tucker gained fame in the 1990s as a standout performer on Russell Simmons’ HBO Def Comedy Jam. He soared to stardom with roles in iconic films like the Rush Hour series, where he starred alongside Jackie Chan. His diverse filmography includes hits like Friday, Money Talks, The Fifth Element, and Silver Linings Playbook.

In 2015, Tucker showcased his comedic prowess in “Chris Tucker Live” on Netflix, a project produced through his own company, Chris Tucker Entertainment. Beyond entertainment, Tucker is dedicated to philanthropy, actively involved with The Chris Tucker Foundation, supporting youth and families worldwide.

Back to Laughter

The last major role Tucker had was in Air and the last time he was on stage was already quite a few years ago, but this time Chris Tucker is just hyped to be cracking jokes!

I started my career doing stand-up in comedy clubs and it’s stand-up comedy that prepared me for all of my movie roles. I’m looking forward to getting back to my roots. I love performing live, there’s nothing like the energy of a live crowd and making people laugh.  I’m excited to be back out on tour.

When Tucker was in ‘The Big Tigger Morning Show’, he talked about how “picky” he is with roles and how he always strives for something great. Since appearing in the ‘Rush Hour’ sequels in 2007, he has only had two movies under his belt, which where Silver Lining’s Playbook (2012) and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016).

He was a perfectionist in his roles but still highly valued creative freedom and being able to write his own lines. This was evident in the new movie he’s in ‘Air’ where he says he wrote all of his lines and in ‘Friday.

Speaking of ‘Friday’, when asked whether or not he would be excited to do a fourth installment of ‘Friday’ he says he is open to considering it. The main reason he didn’t come back after the first one was,

Back then, I gotta tell you, one of the reasons why I didn’t do the second one was because of the weed… Because I said, man, that movie became a phenomenon. I don’t want everybody smoking weed and I never really told people this because I kind of forgot about it, but it was one of the reasons why I didn’t do it. Because I said, ‘I don’t wanna represent everybody smoking weed.’
