Comedian Graham Clark is gearing up for one of the longest shows of his career, all in support of the newly reopened Little Mountain Gallery in Gastown. From Friday, April 12 at 7 pm to Saturday, April 13, Clark will entertain audiences for a full 24 hours with his stand-up comedy.

Supporting Local Theatre and Charity

A bearded man in a black t-shirt sits on a stool next to a microphone stand, speaking in a room with wooden walls and various items on a shelf.

The funds raised from this marathon will go towards supporting the theatre space, which serves as a hub for independent comedians, including sketch comics, stand-ups, and improvisers.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to WISH Vancouver, a charity dedicated to assisting women involved in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade with their health and well-being.

This event marks the venue’s return after it was forced to shut its doors at its long-time Mount Pleasant home in December 2021

Little Mountain Gallery’s Return with Tradition

Niki Mohrdar, programming director for Little Mountain Gallery is hyped for their return saying that the whole event is,

Super exciting! It’s been a long time coming, and we’re looking forward to re-establishing ourselves in the comedy scene… Gastown is obviously very different to Mount Pleasant, so we’re looking forward to getting to know everyone in the community there.

For Graham Clark, this marks his third 24-hour stand-up marathon, with his last one in 2021 aiding Little Mountain Gallery in finding a new home.

Known for his work on Stop Podcasting Yourself, Clark will entertain audiences non-stop, with only a few bathroom breaks, relying on a team of comedians to provide him with fresh material throughout the night.

Little Mountain Gallery means the world to me… It is a gift to a city that finds itself constantly losing art spaces. Vancouver’s comedy community is resilient and has weathered many storms over the last few years and this has been something myself and fellow comedians have been looking forward to. I wouldn’t stand for 24 hours straight for any other venue … maybe the Roxy … but probably not.

A Night of Comedy and Community Support

During the 24-hour show, local comedians will join Clark on stage to offer jokes and support. The event will also be livestreamed, allowing audiences worldwide to participate. Clark says that 24 hours of standup isn’t easy, but this time, on his 3rd run he’s more than prepared.

At around 3:30 a.m., the mind starts to melt into something the consistency of a melted gummi bear, so I’m ready to meet that head on

Clark isn’t tackling this challenge all alone as the team of writers with him would be able to come up with inside jokes within inside jokes that he promises wouldn’t be recreated by anyone who actually had a decent night of sleep.

Tickets for the show are available on their website! It would be sold for specific 90-minute time slots throughout the 24-hour run time of the entire show.

It certainly promises to be an interesting show! An hour of material is already hard enough then there’s no telling what 24 hours could bring! For more interesting comedy shows and absolutely hilarious comedians, step right in to one of the best comedy clubs in London, Big Belly Comedy Club!
