The Bafta Television Awards will once again be graced by the comedic talents of Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, the academy has confirmed. Here’s the list of the stellar comedy line-up you can expect at the BAFTA awards!
Following their successful stint as hosts last year, Beckett and Ranganathan are set to take the stage on 12 May for another round of laughter and celebration. The duo’s previous hosting gig garnered an impressive peak audience of 4.4 million viewers on BBC One.
Expressing their enthusiasm for the upcoming event, Beckett said,
Romesh and I are absolutely buzzing to be back hosting the Baftas… We’ve not seen or spoken to each other since last year when we hosted so it will be good to catch up. It’s a real privilege to continually get work together even though our friendship is fake and completely fabricated for commercial gain.
Of course, Ragnathan also had a quip as a comment saying,
I really thought I’d done enough last year to be asked to host it solo this time, but hosting it with Rob again is also an honour I suppose.
Both of them were the comedy duo tasked with hosting and were a huge success! According to Emma Baehr, the executive director of awards at BAFTA they were ‘utterly brilliant’ and have cemented themselves as one of the “nation’s most treasured comedy duos”.
The 2024 Bafta Awards nominations spotlight a stellar lineup of British comedy talent, with Bridget Christie, Joe Lycett, and Mawaan Rizwan among the notable nominees.
The Bafta Television Craft Awards are set for Sunday 28 April, while the main Television Awards, hosted by Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, will air on Sunday May 12 on BBC One. For the full list of nominations, visit bafta.org.
