There’s a lot of things that make Stratford so amazing. In fact, you could spend an entire day in Queen Elizabeth’s Olympic park and not get bored at all! Though, it might not get boring but it does get tiring.

Thankfully these British businessmen in all their wisdom placed their cafes in convenient places so you can rest and unwind after a long day of exploring. Here are the best ones we’ve found, from quick takeaway shops to homey tea rooms!

The Stratford Centre is already a premier place to go and certainly worth a visit when you’re around town. Especially if you have a thick wallet with you as every corner is filled with the best restaurants and boutiques.

If you’re like me and absolutely broke, then this café inside the centre is a great place to stop by and just have a quick cup of coffee to start your day. I highly recommend ordering from their freshly brewed latte and my personal favourite, their red velvet cake.

Caffe Nero

If you’re looking for baked goods for breakfast to jumpstart your day then look no further than the tasty and wide selection that Caffe Nero has to offer! First of all, I’d like to highlight the fact that this place is special, because you get sweet treats made fresh from their bakery and an espresso all for more or less £5.

The joint also offers a selection of sandwiches, bread, and other snacks to keep you coming back for more! Indoors, their decor reminds me of a deli where you walk in and then greeted by their display of food behind a glass.

📍Westfield stratford city, Montfichet Rd, London E20 1EJ, United Kingdom

Hermanos Columbian Coffee Roasters

The interior of a coffee shop with people sitting at the counter.

Next up we have what we like to call as little celebrities in the caffeine scene. This trendy shop could be found in various of spots throughout London, and have gained lively popularity thanks to their hot food and of course, their artisan coffee roasts and beans that are available for take away so you could have a fresh mug at home!

Offering fresh and ethically sourced coffee from Columbia. They have established a strong online presence and is actually quite well-known within the community. They might be expanding soon given their popularity so definitely keep an eye out if there’s one opening near you!

📍40 Celebration Ave, East Village, London E20 1DB, United Kingdom

Hand Cafe

The interior of a restaurant with red chairs and a brick wall.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit healthy, maybe a salad, or small plates of toasties and eggs, then Hand Cafe is the perfect place to visit. The greatest flat white that Olympic Park has to offer. They also have a great brunch menu; my favorite dish is the Greek eggs, but the toasties are also very popular.

Everything from the chalkboard menu, to the brightly-colored chairs, this spot is just so cosy. Plus the staff make sure to lovingly ask you if you’ve got any allergies or reactions to gluten or what-not.

📍11 Victory Parade, East Village, London E20 1FS, United Kingdom

Colicci Cafe

John lewis - london - john lewis - london - john lew.

What I love about this place is not because of their relaxing terrace on the outside for people-watching or for delicious homemade pastry and cakes that are packed with flavour, no, it’s the fact that the staff here actually remembers my coffee!

There’s something a little endearing about having a coffee shop remember your order, and it speaks volumes as to how many times you actually come in! Collicci is an independent coffee shop that’s surrounded by chains of other popular cafes and tea spots but still managed to succeed and is immensely popular!

📍1 Montfichet Rd, London E20 1EE, United Kingdom

Caffe Concerto

A restaurant with a red awning in front of it.

Though, I’m not exactly sure if this joint does offer live music, but they do have light background music to set a relaxing mood. This has been one of the most iconic spots for some serene afternoon tea. Not only is the decor very sophisticated-looking, they also have great pastries like scones and puddings.

If sipping on tea isn’t your style then have a look at their amazing menu for brunch! From Full English staples like eggs benedict and pancakes to other seasonal and fresh seafood like their salmon, which by the way, is a must-try!

📍FC2001, Westfield Shopping Centre, London E20 1GN, United Kingdom

El Cafecito

A coffee shop with plants in front of it.

Ending this list with probably the smallest cafe but make no mistake, this place offers the biggest of flavours! They don’t technically have an indoor area since the place is so small but don’t worry they have plenty of outdoor seating with the background of the London streets to keep you company.

What I love about this spot is that it’s insanely consistent. I’m the type of guy who orders the same thing over and over again, and I love the fact that El Cafecito could deliver the same delicious flavours over and over again! A little tip from me, whatever coffee you order, order some almond croissants on the side and you won’t regret it!
