What makes Southbank a Good Area for Burger Joints?

  1. High Foot Traffic –  Southbank is a major tourist and cultural destination, bringing large volumes of foot traffic past restaurants along the riverfront. This provides built-in customers for burger joints in the area.
  2. Al Fresco Dining – The riverfront location allows for outdoor seating, which suits casual dining like burgers. Many restaurants have terraces with river views.
  3. Events & Festivals –  Major festivals like London Wonderground bring large crowds who need quick, casual meal options.
  4. Transport Links – Excellent tube and rail connections from Waterloo and Blackfriars stations make Southbank easily accessible.

Located right on bustling Gabriel’s Wharf overlooking the Thames, Paradiso Burger in Southbank is a popular spot for delicious smashed chicken burgers and crispy fries made with high-quality British ingredients. Known for using free-range chicken and produce from Yorkshire farms and making homemade kimchi slaw – every food this restaurant serves is fresh and locally acquired.

My partner and were delighted at the wide range of meat and toppings they had, and even more delighted when the staff told us that we can actually build our own burger, which was a game changer for me as I always want to try every topping available!

Greenport Kitchen

Photo, people.

I think in my first days of being in London, this modern spot has been my go-to whenever I want to just tuck myself in a corner and relax an and take in the atmosphere of the bustling streets. You’ll find that when you enter Greenport Kitchen, it’s a nice escape from the busy South bank, and with their large floor to ceiling windows, you’ll see the people who come and go.

Food here was excellent and seem to be inspired from American cuisine, although the staff is small, they are super attentive, which I greatly appreciate!

A restaurant with tables, chairs, and a piano. (No new keywords added)

Under the railway arches near Waterloo Station, it has a unique and lively atmosphere with live jazz music playing every evening. The restaurant opened in 1979 as one of the first in the Southbank area and has become a local institution.

It offers a variety of mouthwatering burgers on its menu including the classic Archduke Burger as well as options like the Bacon & Cheeseburger and the Guacamole & Smoked Bacon Burge. The burgers are cooked to perfection and come with fries on the side or as an alternative, salad.

They offer takeaway right from their counter so you can grab a burger to go while exploring Southbank. You can also get delivery through services like Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Delivery is available within a 1.5 mile radius of their Queen’s Walk location.
