After a bizarre performance at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek. Comedian and actor Nick Swardson, was bombarded with heckling and boos and was subsequently escorted off-stage by staff.
The Performance
Nick Swardson is being criticized after a video came out of his bizarre performance where he struggled to push out a joke about Jason Statham. He just kept repeating the same lines over and over again.
Here we go, Jason Statham as The Beekeeper…
The whole performance only lasted around 20 minutes and witnesses claimed that he kept on rambling and repeating himself during that time.
He also allegedly got into a shouting match with one of the audience and videos that surfaced online show that audience members were not happy about it – audience members could be heard talking to each other instead or shouting “refund!” instead of listening to his performance.
Audience Impact
Swardson then tried to segue the joke amidst all the people heckling him, by referencing the late-comedian Norm Macdonald, but before he could finish his sentence, the venue decided it was time to cut his act short.
Eventually the venue brought the lights on and turned off the spotlights and his mic. To which the crowd loudly cheered that the performance is over and boos could be heard.
Staff escorted Nick out of the stage and then had the director of operations on stage to address the angry crowd,
We’ve decided to conclude the show early in the best interest of those who bought tickets. We apologize for what you’re seeing tonight, please email the box office, we’ll be responding to inquiries and processing credits and refunds. We apologize. I’ll be in the lobby if you have any questions or concerns. Please email the box office.
On an email released by TMZ, the venue addressed the issue again and reiterated that refunds would be processed and again offered their apology. The email stated that,
We apologize for the negative experience you may have had at this evening’s performance with Nick Swardson. Unfortunately, this show did not meet the Vilar Performing Arts Center’s standards as a world-class presenter of the performing arts… Therefore, all tickets will be refunded to the original payment method. Please accept our sincere apologies, and be in touch if there is anything we can do to further assist you.
Swardson’s Take
Swardson addressed his performance and blamed the combination of alcohol, edibles, and the high altitude of Colorado. He then says that he’ll make it up to the people of Beaver Creek but has yet to release any details on when he would return.
Just casually woke up on TMZ. Travel tip: don’t drink and take edibles in high altitude. Fucking brain diarrhea. I’ll make it up to you Beaver Creek! ❤️
