The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has announced the integration of Apple Wallet and Google Wallet ticketing features for the upcoming Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024. We’ve been to the Fringe a couple of times now and let me tell you this is such a welcome change!

Convenient Ticketing Solutions

Audience members can now effortlessly save e-tickets from the Fringe Box Office directly to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet apps.

This advancement allows ticket access even in areas with limited internet connectivity, a common challenge during the bustling festival season.

Additionally, users can conveniently share tickets with friends who have the same Wallet app, ideal for those attending shows separately.

Sponsorship and Sustainability

Johnnie Walker Princes Street’s long-term partnership has made it possible to build these cutting-edge ticketing features. This partnership expands on the Fringe’s 2021 e-ticketing rollout, which was made feasible by Johnnie Walker Princes Street’s backing.

By using less paper, this initiative not only improves the festival-goer experience but also supports the Fringe’s climate action goals. This statement comes after the official EdFringe app was successfully relaunched in 2023 and featured capabilities for on-the-go booking, planning, and concert discovery.

Gratitude and Anticipation

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, expressed gratitude for the positive reception of this development and thanked Johnnie Walker Princes Street for their crucial support.

We know from the feedback we’ve received that audience members are eager for this development, and we’re delighted to be able to provide it in time for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024

Rob Maxwell, Head of Johnnie Walker Princes Street, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the partnership’s role in enhancing the festival experience and hinting at exciting plans for the upcoming festival season.

We are proud supporters of the Fringe and we’re delighted our involvement can support the introduction of this new functionality, which will not only improve audiences’ ticket-buying experience at the festival, but their overall experience via the enhanced sharing capability.

2024 marks our third year as Fringe partners, and it’s set to be our biggest yet. We’ve a whole host of exciting plans to announce in the coming weeks that’ll ensure a visit to Johnnie Walker Princes Street is a must for any festival itinerary.

Last year, the app was able to suggest random shows happening near you so the ability to keep track of all your tickets with or without a reliable connection is certainly a plus!
