The premiere date for “Conan O’Brien Must Go” was unveiled by Conan O’Brien himself during an on-stage conversation with comedian Nick Kroll at SXSW. The show is set to consist of four episodes, each offering a unique perspective on O’Brien’s adventures.

Inspiration and Production

The inspiration for “Conan O’Brien Must Go” stems from O’Brien’s popular podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan,” where he engages in conversations with listeners worldwide.

The television series will follow O’Brien as he interacts with fans in Norway, Thailand, Argentina, and Ireland, giving each fan a personal visit!

There are funny people all over the globe and they all have their own rhythm… I love talking to people who don’t know who I am, don’t care. I’m a connection junkie, I like to connect with people. I think this show is my way to get my fix.

Produced by Conaco, with O’Brien and Jeff Ross serving as executive producers, the show aims to capture the essence of different cultures while showcasing O’Brien’s own humour.

The new show is also likely inspired by Conan’s previous travel specials called ‘Conan Without Borders’ which was aired on TBS and even won an Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement.

Though this time his new show has access to a lot of funding with the use of drones, enhanced production equipment, and even enough money to splurge on elaborate costumes.

From the teaser clip alone they seem to have went all out with gorgeous panoramic views and professional cinematography and lighting!

Transition from Late Night

After a remarkable 28-year tenure in late-night television, O’Brien decided to bid farewell to the talk show format and explore new creative avenues.

Following the conclusion of “Conan,” he shifted his focus towards expanding his media company, Team Coco, and establishing a prominent presence in the podcasting realm.

When asked about how he feels moving away from the talk-show industry, Conan has this to say,

It was easier than I thought it would be… I did it for 28 years and I realized, ‘OK I did this.’ We don’t know how much time we get in life and I want to double down on what I want to do now. I like to challenge myself and try new things

Since bidding farewell to “Conan,” O’Brien has been focusing on expanding his media company, Team Coco, and venturing into the podcast world. With popular shows like “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” boasting over 427 million downloads and even slated to perform during Netflix is a Joke Festival.

It’s been a couple of years since Conan had his own show and we’re hyped to see it! While waiting for the show to drop why not drop on by at Big Belly Comedy Club! We’ve got great comedy shows every night of the week so join in on the fun!
