Steve Punt

Steve Punt, renowned British comedian and writer, began his career writing for BBC Radio 4’s Week Ending during his university days. Alongside Hugh Dennis, he became a fixture on shows hosted by Jasper Carrott, and later co-created the hit satirical program The Mary Whitehouse Experience. This success led to television ventures such as The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show and the sitcom Me, You and Him.

Punt diversified as a writer, contributing to BBC Radio 2’s It’s Been a Bad Week and co-hosting BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show. Notably, he scripted Rockford’s Rock Opera and investigated British mysteries in his series Punt PI. With appearances on Celebrity Mastermind and roles like the narrator in The Rocky Horror Show, Punt’s comedic legacy thrives, as seen in his insights shared on Sky Arts’ Comedy Legends with Barry Cryer.
