Anthony began his career as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco in 1989, performing for five years before moving to New York City for another four years and finally settling in Los Angeles. He gained recognition as a regular performer at the Holy City Zoo in San Francisco.
His stand-up comedy has graced various late-night shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show, and Comedy Central. He’s showcased his talent in every US state and at global events like the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. His 2015 comedy tour and album, “Hot Head,” explored his challenging childhood, earning critical acclaim and Billboard chart success.
Anthony’s television career includes appearances on shows like The Office, Arrested Development, and Maron. He’s also a prolific writer, nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award in 2015. He co-hosts the hit podcast “The Dollop,” where he presents quirky American history stories, and co-hosted “The West Wing Thing,” dissecting the TV series from a leftist perspective. His latest podcast venture, “The Audit,” delves into online classes and media products created by political figures. Anthony is celebrated for his unique storytelling style and dedication to factual accuracy.
