Arj Barker began his comedy journey in 1989 post-high school. Hosting stand-up nights at San Anselmo’s Caffe Nuvo in the early 1990s kick-started his career. He gained visibility with appearances on Premium Blend, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Glass House.

Barker’s stint on Comedy Central Presents and roles in shows like Flight of the Conchords boosted his profile. Co-writing and performing in The Marijuana-Logues, an Off-Broadway hit, showcased his talent.

Despite setbacks like the shelving of sitcom Nearly Nirvana, Barker found success in Australia, winning accolades like Best Comedy Release at the ARIA Music Awards in 2019. Presently, he calls Australia home.
