Adam Hills

Adam Hills, famed host of Channel 4’s award-winning series The Last Leg, is a beloved UK comedian. With 16 global solo shows, his positivity and spontaneity have earned him widespread acclaim and a global fanbase.

Hills shines beyond comedy with the celebrated documentary “Take His Legs,” spotlighting the inspiring Warrington Wolves Physical Disability Rugby League team. The film captures their journey to ANZ Stadium, Australia, for a historic game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

His recent show “Clown Heart” was a UK hit, recorded at Hammersmith Apollo. In 2018, his book “Best Foot Forward” shared comedic tales from his Sydney stand-up days to TV fame and encounters with stars like Whoopi Goldberg. A children’s novel, “Rockstar Detectives,” and an MBE for disability awareness round out his impressive portfolio.

Adam Hills – Comedian

Rising Through the Laughs

Transitioning from radio to the live comedy scene in the mid-1990s, Adam showcased his talents in his first solo show “Stand Up and Deliver” in 1997. His comedic prowess knew no bounds, leading him to perform at prestigious events like the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and Montreal Just For Laughs festival. The Edinburgh Comedy Awards recognized his brilliance with consecutive nominations for his 2001, 2002, and 2003 solo shows.

Signature Shows and Quirky Influences

Adam’s signature show “Go You Big Red Fire Engine,” born from a spontaneous audience interaction, became a resounding success. The phrase not only named his show and comedy album but echoed across borders, even gracing the Australian Parliament. His uniqueness extends to his artificial right foot, a comedic element he introduced later in his career after establishing himself as a comic force. This approach mirrored his dedication to comedy over novelty.

Comedic Inclusivity and Impact

In a trailblazing move, Adam regularly performs alongside Auslan sign interpreter Leanne Beer. Inspired by a performance at a disability art conference, this collaboration not only engages deaf audience members but enchants hearing spectators too. His commitment to inclusivity and entertainment has carved a distinctive niche in the comedy world.
