This month marks a significant moment for comedians Adam Flood and Alexandra Haddow as they prepare to record their first stand-up specials. Both comedians will be recording their debut hours at the Moth Club, located in East London, on May 29. While the venue is set, the distribution platform for the recordings is yet to be confirmed.

Adam Flood

A man with an expression of surprise, wearing a beige shirt and ornate grey textured collar, set against a multi-colored striped background.

Flood’s special, titled “Remoulded,” revolves around his journey of running away from his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and reinventing himself. Flood shared his anticipation for the recording, saying,

Recording my first special is a big deal. I can’t wait to cut it up into decontextualised 30 second Tik Toks. I love this show and doing it one final time in such a cool venue with one of my good pal’s Alexandra is going to be top.

Remoulded was an energetic comedy debut and received a lot of positive reviews! It is a fun spin on musical comedy autobiography; with an Auto-Tune pedal, various identities, and of course songs.

Adam Flood’s special really showcases his talent with facial expressions and mixing deep problems with comedy. With the power of video editing, it would be nice to see what the result would be of this lively show!

Alexandra Haddow

A woman in a red dress holding a trophy, standing in front of a shimmering multicolored backdrop.

Haddow’s show, titled “Not My Finest Hour,” delves into the aspects of her life that aren’t always deemed ‘good’, covering topics such as sex, children, and the art of apologizing. Regarding the recording, Haddow expressed her excitement, stating,

I’m so excited to film my debut show in Moth, a place I have never before experienced fully sober. I’m hoping this final performance of Not My Finest Hour will be my finest.

“Not My Finest Hour” is Alexandra Haddow’s debut comedy show, fresh from a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe and recommended by the British Comedy Guide. In it, she fearlessly explores her own missteps and failures in various aspects of life including relationships, sex, feminism, and more.

Through humor, she challenges the notion of perfection and embraces the messy, gray areas of life, asserting that they are where the real fun lies.

Edinburgh Fringe Plans

Following their stand-up specials, both comedians will return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August with their sophomore shows. Haddow will present “Third Party,” while Flood will showcase “Back of the Spoon,” both at Monkey Barrel Comedy.

Their specials are certainly worth watching and we just can’t wait! If you’re looking for LIVE comedy shows, then one of the best comedy clubs in London, Big Belly Comedy Club, is ready to entertain you with 7 nights a week of comedy so join in on the fun!
