A brewing feud between comedian Mike Epps and sports commentator Shannon Sharpe has erupted into a public spectacle, fueled by accusations and personal attacks. The rift stems from remarks made during Epps’ stand-up comedy set and subsequent podcast episodes, igniting a war of words that’s captured public attention.
During a stand-up performance, Epps alleged that Sharpe, host of the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, had requested an interview. Epps’ jests insinuated Sharpe’s homosexuality and ridiculed his involvement with comedian Katt Williams during a viral interview.
“That n***a Shannon Sharpe called me trying to do an interview. I said, ‘no Medea, I ain’t doing no interview with you’ so you can sit across from me and look at my balls.”
The comedian then went on to make a series of jokes targeting Shannon, which infuriated the Club Shay Shay host. Epps then went on to accuse Sharpe of inciting Katt Williams during his viral interview on Club Shay Shay to say something about him but Katt didn’t bite.
Despite this, Epps also posted an Instagram video about a month ago that said,
Aight, I did get a little jealous man. Katt broke the internet and didn’t say my name, good or bad. I need the press too!
This led to many fans online speculating that Mike Epps is joining in on the viral hit that was Williams’ interview. He even plugged his upcoming Netflix Special when Sharpe reached out to talk about their conflict.
Sharpe swiftly refuted Epps’ claims on his podcast, “Nightcap,” challenging Epps to face the truth and disavow his lies. In a tense message directed at Epps, Sharpe vowed to confront him directly, denouncing the spread of false information about their interaction.
Sharpe stated on his podcast:
“Now when I see you, I’m going to see if you really about that. Say my name again. … I got something for you… Say your little jokes, get your little laugh off, have fun; but just don’t lie and say I said something when I didn’t
Epps later admitted that he was not invited to the show but instead he was the one who reached out, Epps said,
“I’m not gonna lie. I did DM you to get on the show. But I DM’d you to get on the show because you brought my name up when you was sitting there with Katt,”
Epps then posted a few other statements like,
You did look like Madea sitting there. You was looking zesty. I’m not saying you gay. You looked like Big Freedia sitting there.
And in a recent social media post he remarked that he doesn’t fight anymore, and when they do see each other, they wouldn’t be using their fists.
I’m going to be at All-Star in my hometown. I’mma see you, brother. And I’m just letting you know, I don’t do no fighting. There’s only one other option if you don’t fight; you do blank, blank, blank blank, blank, blank.
Fans speculate that it was the previous quote that Sharpe decided he has had enough of their feud and extended an olive branch towards Mike Epps and invited him to be guest in his podcast or to talk in person.
UNC and @TheRealMikeEpps have decided 2 have a man 2 man conversation in Indy at NBA all star weekend 2 discuss our differences. We both realize this situation could’ve been, should’ve been handled differently. I apologize 2 fam, friends, love 1s and my fans. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 #ClubShayShay

As promised. No video required. No audio required. Just a picture for proof. We are good.
