Smack The Pony Star Sets off on a Hilarious Journey

Smack The Pony star Fiona Allen is set to embark on her very first stand-up tour, delighting fans with her comedic prowess. The tour, aptly named “On The Run,” will kick off this autumn, following its debut at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe festival.

Having spent years as a dedicated working mom raising three children who are now young adults, Fiona Allen decided to pursue stand-up comedy as a personal endeavor. “On The Run” not only showcases her hilarious take on life but also reflects upon her journey towards self-discovery.

Exploring Family, Marriage, and Modern Quirks

During the show, Fiona shares her candid thoughts on a variety of topics, ranging from family dynamics and marriage to the ever-fascinating world of sex robots. With a touch of wit and charm, she also delves into the peculiarities of passive-aggressive school moms and the often-questionable dress codes encountered in supermarkets.

Before her rise to fame, Fiona Allen worked as a box office manager at the legendary Manchester nightclub, the Haçienda. However, it was her role as a star and co-writer of the hit Channel 4 sketch show, Smack the Pony, that catapulted her into the limelight. Her exceptional talent has graced the screens of popular shows like Skins, Waterloo Road, and EastEnders. Despite her impressive television career, Fiona ventured into stand-up comedy only a couple of years ago, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

Interestingly, Fiona’s husband, Mike, also features in her comedy show. Described as a man who still struggles with operating the washing machine, Mike adds an extra layer of humor to the performance. It’s worth noting that he is the son of talk show legend, Sir Michael Parkinson, ensuring comedy runs in the family.
